Piero Boi has built a team that is dedicated to finding the best local food that represent out area, using great food combinations & presenting taste driven dishes. He has a nose to tail philosophy to menu design, which works well with simple pub fayre or more complex dishes. Everything is made on site, so he can be totally flexible, happy to personalise dishes around diets & allergies. Piero’s love of food vibrates through the kitchen, front of house to our guests and has made The Methuen a lovely neighbourhood restaurant but also a destination restaurant well established on the ‘foodie’ radar.
We like to keep the beer miles down, so local West Country ales from the smaller craft breweries. The wine list is a big part of what we do buying from smaller producers much of whom we have personally visited or are on the radar. We support the artisan producers with an interesting back story which keeps our drinks offering refreshingly different & diverse. So lots of Chase, Somerset Cider Brandy. Massive Gin Selection & malt whiskies.
